Appetiser: Bread dahi vada



Serves: 4
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 6-8 slices white or brown bread
  • Plain yoghurt
  • Tamarind sauce
  • Bhujia
  • Chaat / panipuri masala
  • 2 chopped green chillies
Method:
  • Cut the slices of bread along the middle.
  • Put them in the grill for 2 minutes to make them very lightly crispy (optional).
  • Layer up the rectangular pieces on a tray.
  • Generously lather them with plain yoghurt.
  • Spread tangy tamarind sauce on it.
  • Put the tray in the fridge for a few hours, till all the layers soak up.
  • Before serving, sprinkle bhujia.
  • Top up with chat or panipuri masala and some fresh green chilli slices.
  • This one promises to tickle the tangy and hot tastebuds.
